"Plume" is now:
Champion Merci Isle Dove Feather
after gaining her final points for her title in the US.
At the Finnish KC all breed Winner show in Helsinki
BIS Veteran went to Ch Pipsqueak Charmtroll!
She was sired by our late "Jeff" Ch Airescot Fandango
and comes from an almost all-champion litter bred by
Tuija Elomaa (Pipsqueak). Of the 2+4 in the litter,
5 have been shown, and they all became champions!
Jeff proved to be a very dominant sire, and is behind many
highly awarded Whippets, not only here in Scandinavia.
He sired a total of 8 litters. Of his 40 (18+22) offspring,
24 are at least CC-winners, and 15 are champions!
Also at HUND 2006 Tiara's Xciting Pearls N'Tiaras
long-haired daughter "Isa"
Xciting Miss Dinah Might
not only won a big junior class and qualified for Crufts 2007.
She also placed 2nd (runner-up) to Best Bitch
and won the CC as well! Judge: Andrew Brace, UK.

The AWC National
was a great week for Whippets.
It was so
wonderful to see all the beautiful dogs,
and
to meet all the nice people! This is surely
THE Whippet
event to visit for inspiration
as a breeder
and devoted breed fancier.
It was
also great to catch up with our relatives at Merci
Isle!
Merci Isle Dove Feather "Plume", did really well
both in the
Futurity and in her class at the National,
as did her
brothers and sisters (litter- & half-).
Plume is
co-owned by Signum with Merci Isle!
April
We are hoping to be able to be more active both at the
shows,
and also training for lure coursing
with
some of the girls in the new season.
But
first we will be attending the AWC National in Boston,
judged
by Bo Bengtson (Bohem), that bred Magnus very first
Whippet,
Ch Bohem Flambingo, "Smokey"
in 1971!
We are
also very proud of the wonderful record that
Int Ch Signum Guyana
has produced for the Hjortronblommas kennels.
"Rut"
is the dam of three litters from three different sires
(Ch Accent's
Little Limerick, Ch Houghtonhill Orbit
and Ch
Twyborn Alice Springs respectively),
and has
produced Champions and CC-winners in each litter.
Most
famous is of course Ch Hjortronblommas Gin Kelly,
but the
list of winning and titled progeny also
include
offspring from her H and I-litters.
Rut has
done well at the shows herself,
adding
up several winning progeny groups,
Best
Veteran as well as going all the way to
BOB from
veteran class. Well done!

Ch Xciting Heart
of Gold
The
new year started very bad,
and we
lost our dear old Dominik in January.
She
has left a big empty space at home, and nothing will
ever
be the same. She was a rare ambassador for her breed,
be
it surrounded by admiring kids in the park or just
adding
glamour to wherever she put her paws. We are happy
and proud
of
her children's accomplishments around the world,
and grateful
that
we got to share her life. All the Whippets adored
their coated head of family,
and
she was remarkably gentle with all our Whippet puppies.
They
could not believe their luck in having a warm coat
to cuddle and sleep in!
Dominik's son Ch
Xciting Xtravagant Creation
ended 2005
as Top Afghan in Sweden as well as Top Sighthound
on
the list for Top Dog all breeds in Sweden 2005.
Adding several
SBIS and all-breed BIS to his already impressive
record.
He
also returned to the US adding to his total list of
BOB.
If you
want to study true Afghan Hound movement,
"Tiger"
is the dog to watch!
Xciting Pearls
N'Tiaras, "Tiara" had her first
litter at Xciting
just
before Christmas. 1+2 was the result sired by
SBIS
Chipau Chivas Regal.
Our relatives in the US continue to inspire us.
Merci Isle Dove
Feather "Plume" has done really well
at
her few outings, going Best in Sweeps
as well
as winning her first points towards her title.
